Dstines, is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, music director, and educator whose musical journey spans decades of performance, musicianship, and creative development.
Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, with family roots in Akwa Ibom State, Dstines was introduced to music from an early age through a deeply musical and faith centered home.
His passion and ability quickly developed, and he became an active member of his church band, traveling to different parts of Nigeria to perform through music.
As his experience grew, Dstines expanded beyond the church environment and began working across both gospel and mainstream music circles. Performing alongside a diverse range of artists exposed him to different musical styles, audiences, and creative approaches, helping shape the versatility that defines his artistry today.
Over the years, he has served in several musical capacities, including lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, lead vocalist, background vocalist, music director, composer, and session musician. These experiences gave him something deeper than technical ability. They helped him develop a broad musical perspective that combines musicianship, songwriting, production, and performance.
Today, Dstines brings those influences together as a multi-instrumentalist and recording artist, creating music rooted in faith while embracing contemporary African sounds and global musical influences. His sound draws from Afro-gospel, contemporary gospel, Afrobeats, live instrumentation, soulful melodies, and inspirational songwriting, giving his music an identity that feels both authentically African and internationally accessible.
At the heart of Dstines’ music is purpose. His mission is to create songs that inspire hope, strengthen faith, celebrate God’s goodness, and connect people through music regardless of culture or background.
More than a performer, Dstines represents the evolution of a lifelong musician, from the young session guitarist in a local church, to a vocalist, producer, music director, and now an artist sharing his own voice and story with the world.
Faith. Culture. Musicianship. Purpose. This is Dstines.

Education
Beyond music, Dstines brings a multidisciplinary background in architecture, engineering, construction, and design, experiences that have strongly influenced the way he approaches creativity and artistic expression.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Uyo, Nigeria, and continued his professional development in the United States through studies in Green Energy Management at San Diego State University.
His professional journey has also included work across architectural design, construction management, technical design, and project engineering, giving him a unique perspective that combines creativity with structure, precision, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
While developing his professional career, Dstines continued investing in his musical growth. He studied classical guitar at Los Angeles Valley College and pursued coursework in vocal technique and aesthetic interpretation at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California, further strengthening his understanding of musicianship, performance, and artistic expression.
For Dstines, architecture and music are not separate creative worlds. Both begin with an idea, develop through structure and balance, and ultimately create an experience that people can feel.
His creative philosophy is rooted in a simple principle: “Simplicity is advantageous to complexity.”
It is an idea he applies equally to design and music, the belief that something does not have to be complicated to be powerful. Whether designing a space or creating a song, Dstines believes the strongest work is intentional, balanced, meaningful, and able to connect emotionally with people. “We can feel design just as we feel music.”
That intersection of art, structure, culture, and sound has become an important part of Dstines identity, shaping an artist whose creativity extends beyond the stage and into the way he sees, builds, and experiences the world.
